During an Application and Tools Upgrade, a project ALLTABS is created using all records of type = tables. This does not occur in a Tools Only Upgrade.
From the ALLTABS project, Sql Scripts are generated to
a. Create new tables: ALLTABS_CRTTBL.SQL
b. Alter modified tables: ALLTABS_ALTTBL.SQL
c. Create indexes: ALLTABS_CRTIDX.SQL
d. and re-Create database triggers: ALLTABS_CRTTRG.SQL [Update: You do not need to run this script, because all database triggers will be created in the Finalizing the Database Structure task.]
These scripts are referred to as "alter without deletes".
Later in the Upgrade, in section Finalizing Database Structure, the previously created project ALLTABS generates three more SQL scripts:
a. One that will alter tables to drop obsolete columns: ALLTABS_DEL_ALTTBL.SQL
b. One that will also create any remaining indexes that could not be created with
the first alter: ALLTABS_DEL_CRTIDX.SQL
c. And one that will create triggers: ALLTABS_DEL_CRTTRG.SQL
These scripts are referred to as “alter with deletes”.
Sometimes during generating these scripts, warnings and errors are given off and can be seen in the
ALLTABS_build.log. When is it acceptable to ignore these warnings and/or errors?
