How To Disable The Transmission Of All Emails From a Specific Environment, Including Emails Sent By Calling The PT_ MCF_ MAIL Application Package. (Doc ID 1503563.1)

System Administrators frequently attempt to disable the transmission of all emails from a specific environment by commenting out the SMTPServer settings in the PSAPPSRV.CFG and PSPRCS.CFG files for the Application Server domains and Process Scheduler domains for that environment.

However, that technique does not work. This is because the MCFOutboundEmail function, used to transmit emails, is Java Mail-based. So, when the SMTPServer settings for the SMTPServer in the PSAPPSRV.CFG and PSPRCS.CFG files are commented out or otherwise not supplied, Java Mail, by default, will use the localhost as the SMTPServer and the default port of 25 and continue to send out emails.
