Last updated on MARCH 16, 2016

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Staffing Front Office - Version 9 to 9.1 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

PeopleMatch Verity search in the Add/Update Orders component (Page FO_ORDER_MATCH, Component FO_ORDERS), and PeopleSearch Verity research functionality (Page FO_PEOPLESRCH, Component FO_PEOPLE_SRCH) are not working properly when performing searches of existing and available Employees by Phone number. This is the case when the Phone field contains a value with the character of /. Note that whenever phone numbers are stored in the Database, the automatic format registered is xxx/xxx-xxxx, with the value of / coming automatically. As it is, PeopleMatch and PeopleSearch cannot offer proper results, as when using this Phone Number format, the Employees are not getting displayed as they should.

Replication Steps For PeopleMatch:

    - Log into the FSCM Online Application as User ID VP1
    - Navigate to: Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Common Definitions > Resource Search > Search Configuration
    - Open Search Type PeopleMatch (PMSRC) and make sure all configuration is properly setup
    - Navigate to: Staffing > Resources > Employees > Employees
    - Open Employee ID KUX136 (Jennifer Gordon)
    - Go to the Contact Information tab, and confirm that the listed value in the Phone Field is: 415/224-8705  (Thus containing the character of /)
    - Navigate to: Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Common Definitions > Resource Search > Cache Administration
    - Run the Cache Administration Application Engine Program (RS_CACHE_AD) for Search Type 'PeopleMatch' (PMSRC) with System Source as 'STF'
    - Navigate to: Staffing > Orders and Assignments > Add/Update Orders
    - Open existing Order ID 0000000031 within Business Unit US004
    - Go to the PeopleMatch tab
    - Click on the 'Other Search Criteria' sub-tab, and enter the value of 415/224-8705 in the Phone Field
    - Click on the Search button
    - The system returns no results at all, while we were expecting Employee ID KUX136 (Jennifer Gordon)

To gather more information concerning this scenario and its related problem, refer to the available Replication Steps Word Document here linked containing the complete configuration and the replication steps necessary to reproduce the issue.

Replication Steps For PeopleSearch:

    - Log into the FSCM Online Application as User ID VP1
    - Navigate to: Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Common Definitions > Resource Search > Search Configuration
    - Open Search Type PeopleSearch (PLSRC) and make sure all configuration is properly setup
    - Run the Cache Administration Application Engine Program (RS_CACHE_AD) for Search Type 'PeopleSearch' (PLSRC) with System Source as 'STF'
    - Navigate to: Staffing > Search > PeopleSearch
    - Click on the 'Other Search Criteria' sub-tab, and enter the value of 415/224-8705 in the Phone Field
    - Click on the Search button
    - The system returns no results at all, while we were expecting Employee ID KUX136 (Jennifer Gordon)

To gather more information concerning this scenario and its related problem, refer to the available Replication Steps Word Document here linked containing the complete configuration and the replication steps necessary to reproduce the issue.

Expected Result:

The Verity Search offered in PeopleMatch should be able to handle Phone numbers stored in the Database with the format of xxx/xxx-xxxx, which is the actual structure the system uses to automatically store such Field values. The Employees existing in the Database, that are active, eligible for staffing, and have that exact Phone Number value should be displayed in the search results.
