E-PIA: Incorrect value shown in PIA servlets log warning text: "PS_TOKEN has expired.... http session timeout=1200000" (Doc ID 1535592.1)

Last updated on APRIL 04, 2025

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.52 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

PeopleTools 8.52.

Even though in the web profile nothing is set-up as 1200 seconds (timeout warning, timeout logout, HTTP inactivity, no public user enabled), the servlets log shows this warning with an incorrect 1200000 value:

"psft.pt8.auth.PSAuthenticator isAuthExpired PS_TOKEN has expired. Authentication Expiration Time=1361180374000, current time in milliseconds=1361183854748; http session timeout=1200000"

Tests have revealed that this value is recorded only when the HTTP session inactivity is set-up lower than the Inactivity Logout but higher than 1200, and only when the timeout popup window appears (it calls the iScript to show the timeout warning page).

This erroneous value is not honoured by the application, this is not a functional bug but only a bug when generating the log entry.
