Last updated on SEPTEMBER 15, 2016

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Asset Management - Version 9.1 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Incorrect open transactions are generated if an asset has multiple books and one book is recategorized from a depreciable category to a non-depreciable category with "Copy Changes to Other Books" unchecked.
For example:
Assets have ACE, AMT, CORP, and FEDERAL Books:
1) Recat ACE Book with "Copy Changes to Other Books" unchecked.
Open Transactions:
ACE RCT and SUS
AMT SUS
CORP No transaction
FEDERAL SUS
2) Recat AMT Book with "Copy Changes to Other Books" unchecked.
Open Transactions:
ACE No transaction
AMT RCT and SUS
CORP No transaction
FEDERAL SUS
3) Recat CORP Book with "Copy Changes to Other Books" unchecked.
Open Transactions:
ACE SUS
AMT SUS
CORP RCT and SUS
FEDERAL SUS
4) Recat FEDERAL Book with "Copy Changes to Other Books" unchecked.
Open Transactions:
ACE No transaction
AMT No transaction
CORP No transaction
FEDERAL RCT and SUS

Transactions should be generated only for the Book that was recategorized.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1) Add 4 Assets using a Profile that is defined with a depreciable Category and includes the ACE, AMT, CORP, and FEDERAL Books.
2) Asset 1 - recategorize the ACE Book to a non-depreciable Category with "Copy Changes to Other Books" unchecked.
3) Asset 2 - recategorize the AMT Book to a non-depreciable Category with "Copy Changes to Other Books" unchecked.
4) Asset 3 - recategorize the CORP Book to a non-depreciable Category with "Copy Changes to Other Books" unchecked.
5) Asset 4 - recategorize the FEDERAL Book to a non-depreciable Category with "Copy Changes to Other Books" unchecked.
6) Review the Open Transaction for each Asset Id.
