E-PORTAL: On PT 8.53 and for required fixed pagelets, the new action icon on pagelet header throws JavaScript error in PORTAL_REFRESHPAGE object (Doc ID 1567918.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 16, 2015

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.53 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

In PT 8.53 build environments

A JavaScript "error in page" is received in portal home page/tab for the required fixed pagelets that have been set with no "minimize" and "refresh" buttons in Structure and Content

Pagelet setting icon is expected to disappear as well for this combination and not to throw an error in page when used

Edit the default tab and go to the Tab Content and make the pagelet required fixed, then edit the same pagelet in Structure and Content and select (check) the "Hide minimize image" and "Hide refresh image".
After this change click the Pagelet Settings icon and you'll get the error in page when using IE

The error is occurring in HTML object PORTAL_REFRESHPAGE, in function mopen(event, pid) at this line:
var mwidth=document.getElementById("pt_dropdownicon_"+pid).offsetLeft + document.getElementById("pt_dropdownicon_"+pid).width;
