Information in this document applies to any platform.
Employee is currently enrolled in a Medical Plan tied to a HSA plan (HSA has cross validation with medical and waive is not allowed). When a user is trying submit an enrollment into a Medical plan that is not HSA eligible, enrollment is saved, but upon submit, following error message is seen:
This benefit requires enrollment in a specific benefit and plan option. Go to the appropriate benefit page and make the necessary corrections.
Health Savings Account Error
In order to enroll in Health Savings Account you must first enroll in Medical.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Employee is currently enrolled in a Medical Plan tied to a HSA plan (HSA has cross validation with medical and waive is not allowed)
2. Employee has open event that allows changes in Medical via Self Service > Benefits> Benefits Enrollment
3. Employee then elects new Medical plan that is not HSA eligibile
4. Employee cannot submit enrollment successfully and above error message is seen
