ETL 9.1: What steps are needed if turning off AWE Approvals after using AWE in Time and Labor?

When we initially implemented we decided to use AWE and delegation however, now with an additional 20000 user we are considering turning off AWE Approvals and delegation for Time and Labor only. Can you please tell us if we need to do anything other than remove the configuration for AWE and check the check box on the installation table.
What happens if we decide to enter absence management? Will we have to have AWE approvals turned on?
