E-PUM Need Hardware Specs for Scalability of Oracle VirtualBox for PeopleSoft Images (Doc ID 1599984.1)

Last updated on JULY 21, 2020

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.53 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Because PeopleSoft 9.2 applications require the use of PeopleSoft Images,  we are looking to purchase new server hardware that will allow us to use Oracle VirtualBox to host MULTIPLE PeopleSoft Images.

For example, if I want to run VirtualBox and host PeopleSoft FSCM demo image, PeopleSoft HCM demo image, PeopleSoft ELM demo image, and have them all running at the same time, then what are the hardware requirements of the host hardware server?

There is information on the PUM Home Page (Doc ID 1641843.2) > Learning about PeopleSoft Update Manager > Hardware and Software Requirements,  but this does not provide details regarding how to determine hardware requirements for hosting multiple environments.

I’m looking for information such as:

How many processors? (1 or 2 available) How many cores per processor? Any recommended processor?

Memory:  How much memory?

Storage: How much disk needed for the app and data combined considering overhead for requisite growth for 3+ years?

Does the app/data disk have raid requisites for speed consideration

Plus, are there any other considerations we need to know about?  Is there a need for Fiber attachment?  More than 2 NICs?
