Service Operation PERS_EMERGNCY_CONTACT_SYNC Errors With The EMPLID Field Must Not Be Blank in this Message (Doc ID 1601832.1)

Symptoms


When a user navigates to the Emergency Contact Information page in Student Center and clicks Edit, Save without making changes, the following error is encountered in HR IB subscription:

ERROR

EMPLID is blank in first row of emergency contacts record EMERGENCY_CNTCT

The EMPLID field must not be blank in this message.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Navigate to Self Service > Student Center > Emergency Contact. Click on edit button for an existing contact.
2. Click Save, OK.
3. Verify that PERSON_BASIC_SYNC service operation was triggered by navigating to PeopleTools > Integration Broker > Service Operations Monitor > Monitoring > Asynchronous Services.
4. For PERSON_DATA queue, click on link under Done. Click on Sub Queue Link. Verify message was sent.
5. Access the HRMS 9.1 instance to verify that PERSON_BASIC_SYNC service operation was triggered by navigating to PeopleTools > Integration Broker > Service Operations Monitor > Monitoring > Asynchronous Services.

NOTE:  This issue occurs only on Campus Solutions components.  HCM components in HCM 9.0, HCM 9.1, and HCM 9.2 are not impacted.
