Information in this document applies to any platform.

When a demand line for an Item is reserved between the creation and the save of an Adjustment for that same Item to bring the available quantity down to '0' (zero), you end up with a negative available quantity while the Business Unit does not allow negative quantities.

The 'Inventory Balance Report' (INS9090) does not report the negative quantity and if you create an Express Putaway for the Item and Business Unit and a quantity > negative quantity, all quantities are back to normal.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Start creating an Adjustment for an Item and Business Unit to decrease available quantity to '0' (zero) but do NOT save it.
  2. Open a new window, create a Material Stock Request (MSR) for the Item and Business Unit, and reserve it.
  3. Go back to the Adjustment and save it > the available quantity gets a negative value = MSR quantity, while the Business Unit does not allow negative quantities.
