Last updated on APRIL 03, 2025

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.53 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : PS 9.20.XX,  Approval Framework (AWE)

Custom Approval Framework (AWE) transaction, is configured with Generic Template in Configure Transaction, which uses custom SQL Object Identifier as well.

When transaction is submitted for approval, the resulting email shows % with variable numbers, ie %2, %3, %4 etc.

Expectation is the Generic Template variable values should have resolved into to data values in the Route for Approval Email.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
 1. Create Custom AWE Transaction.
 2. Configure with custom Cross Reference Table, as well as SQL Object Identifier.
 3. Submit the transaction.
 4. Review resulting email to see % Variables have not resolved.
