Symptoms

HRMS 9.2 PUM 3

It appears timesheet is automatically approved when no approvers are found. The employee enters time on the timesheet then submits. The Reported Status on the timehsheet automatically gets updated to Approved after submit. Approval is setup at the workgroup level for TLReportedTime using GetApproversByTLSecurity. The Approval Process Setup does not have Self Approval selected. User Auto Approval is selected. Need to understand what is causing the timesheet to be automatically approved. So far this has only been noticed using GetApproversByTLSecurity.

Steps to Recreate:
1. Using delivered userlist - TLGetApproversByTLSecurity
2. Created a Approval Process Definition for TLReportedTime Definition for TByTLSecurity (pointed to delivered userlist. Details icon is set up for Some Approvers number = 1. Self Approval is not selected. Criteria is set for always true.
3. Employee is assigned to a workgroup that points to the above Definition ID assigned for Reported Time Approval.
4. Employee enters time then clicks submit. Note the time is automatically Approved.

Business Impact:
Due to this issue, employees may be paid incorrectly without Managers having an opportunity to review the details before it is automatically approval and passed on for processing.
