Recruiting Screening Questions problems with multiple 'correct answers'
HCM 9.2 TAM (Talent Acquisition Manager) Functionality for Screening Questions. According to the documentation, you can have ‘Multiple correct answers for screen questions’ with points values applied for those answered correctly; but it is unclear to us how you handle the following situations:
• If a person does not select all answers marked as ‘Correct’, the question is marked with a status of ‘Incorrect’ during screening and the applicant could be rejected.
• We have questions where no answer should reject an applicant (cause the question to have an ‘incorrect’ screening result). The points would be different for the answer given, but there really isn’t an incorrect answer. Currently, the question setup requires at least one correct answer. How do you set up questions that will be used in the screening that don’t necessary reject the applicant?
• All of our current multiple choice questions require one answer (and only one answer) and most of them have all of the answers set to “Correct” in the setup table. We don’t see a way to continue with this option. If you set the question up with multiple “Correct” answers it allows the applicant to enter multiple answers.
The change in functionality in TAM screening questions is not acceptable to some customers, who are not sure how to proceed with this change when they have questions in 9.0 which are set up with multiple answers selected as ‘correct’.
In 9.0, an applicant’s answer is screened as correct if the applicant answers any one of the ‘correct’ answers defined for a question. Questions defined with more than one correct answer are presented with radio buttons, and only one answer is accepted.
With the changes in 9.2, these questions will be screened as incorrect now if the applicant checks some, but not all of the answers set as correct. This is a major change in how TAM handles screening and would negatively impact all applications that we received under 9.0, but screened in version 9.2. Also this change may require some customers to rewrite questions that have been defined with multiple correct answers.
