Colorblind users are reporting difficulty with Tangerine style sheet
After upgrading to PT 8.53 there have been complaints from some users who are colorblind that they are experiencing difficulty with the formatting of headings and some other elements of the pages in the Tangerine style sheet. The most prominent issue is with the “red” headings used. For individuals who are red-green color blind, it is difficult to discern the headings from the main content when looking at long pages in CS.
Turning Accessibility features ON helps some, but the headings are still somewhat difficult to discern.
Are there additional changes that can be made to make the Tangerine style sheet more usable?
We have also experimented with high contrast settings in Windows 7, which does not do a great deal better. Additionally, some of the non-color blind individuals we spoke with said that using the system for long periods of time tends to cause eye strain – more than when using the prior style sheet. We believe that the light background is the problem, but it is difficult to say if this is the only cause of the issue.
Are there additional steps that can be taken with the Tangerine style sheet to improve usability for colorblind users and other users who are experiencing eye strain from the new formatting?
