We have a paygroup that is Salary Non-Exempt paid Semi-Monthly. They are paid 86.67 hours every pay period regardless of the number of hours that the pay period contains.
The issue we have is that when an earnings code that is set to Reduce from Regular Pay but does not Add to Gross is used in a pay period that contains fewer than 86.67 hours, the pay calc is adjusting and writing their rate as being higher than their true hourly rate. Likewise, if the pay period actually has more hours than 86.67 hours, it is calculating their hourly rate as being lower than their true hourly rate.
The employee’s regular hourly rate is shown as $9.00 on the 3/31 paycheck, which is correct. However, when an earnings code was entered to reduce from REG, the pay rate was calculated as $8.863696.
On the same employee’s 3/15 paycheck, for an 80 hour pay period, her time adjusted at a rate of 9.75/hour rather than at the true 9.00/hour.
