EAM: Copy Existing Asset does not default Effective Dates from Acquisition Date for non-financial Asset (Doc ID 1623127.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 15, 2016

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Asset Management - Version 9.1 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

1) When a non-financial asset is copied using the Copy Existing Asset page, the Effective Dates for the Location and Custodian are not defaulted from the specified Acquisition Date, as they are when a non-financial asset is added through the Basic Add pages.
2) When an asset is copied using the Copy Existing Asset page, the Asset Copy Options are defaulted from the InterUnit Transfer Options specified in the AM Business Unit Definition page, with the exception of the Asset Attribute Groups Info option, which is always selected, even if it is not selected in the InterUnit Transfer Options for the BU.

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
1.1) Copy an asset using the Copy Existing Asset page.
1.2) Specify an Acquisition Date.
1.3) Note that the Location and Custodian Effective Dates of the new asset are defaulted to the current date, not to the Acquisition Date.

2.1) Change the InterUnit Transfer Options specified in the AM Business Unit Definition page so that Asset Attribute Groups Info is not selected.
2.2) Copy an asset using the Copy Existing Asset page.
2.3) Note that the Asset Copy Options are defaulted from the BU's InterUnit Transfer Options, except for the Asset Attribute Groups Info option, which is always selected.
