On : 9.1 version, Direct Journal

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
User is able to create accounting entries for a direct journal payment using a control account.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
User should not be able to create accounting entries for a direct journal payment using a control account.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Common Definitions > Design Chartfields > Define Values > Chartfield Values > Account. Create a new account (121212) using Account type = Expense and make sure Control Account is not checked.
  2. Create a Regular Deposit and make sure to check ‘Journal Directly’.
  3. Navigate to Accounts Receivable > Payments > Direct Journal Payments > Create Accounting Entries. Use account 121212 and create accounting entries. Accounting entries are generated, this is fine.
  4. Open account 121212, add a new effective dated row and make sure to check Control Account.
  5. Create another Regular Deposit and make sure to check ‘Journal Directly’.
  6. Navigate to Accounts Receivable > Payments > Direct Journal Payments > Create Accounting Entries. Use account 121212 and create accounting entries. Accounting entries are generated. This is wrong, user should not be able to use a Control Account when generating accounting entries for a Direct Journal.
