Goal

How to interpret PeopleTools 8.48-8.5x Integration Broker Service Operation Monitor the messaging service operation transactions statuses?

In particular, how the statuses of Operation Intstances and Publication or Subscription Contracts relate to each other, in view of the transaction's overall success?

For example, if a publication code ran with apparent success, and afterwords Service Operation Monitor page Asynchronous Services, tab Operation Instances, shows a row with operation instance in status "Done", but on drilling down into Details the page Asynchronous Details shows in section Publication Contracts a row in status "New": does this mean that the entire messaging publication service operation transaction was successful, despite different status on different pages related to the same transaction?

Or another example, why does it happen that an error occurs, but the Service Operation Monitor Asynchronous Services show all transactions in status Done, and how to detect quicky that there had been issues?
