E-AE: All Application Engine Jobs Run to Error If Standby DB Is Down When PSAESRV Is Configured with ADG or GoldenGate (Doc ID 1674636.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 03, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.52 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On PT 8.52 version, Application Engine use of Golden Gate product for Primary and Standby (Reporting) database sync

In an environment where there is one Process Scheduler that accesses the Primary and Standby(Reporting) databases, and Scheduler has PSAESRV configured.
In this situation the Application Engine(AE) Programs that run do not have the Read Only box checked on the Process Definition.
When the Standby(Reporting) database is brought down, any currently running AE are stopped.

Expect that when Application Engine(AE) Programs that run do not have the Read Only box checked on the Process Definition, stopping the Standby Database should not stop the AE programs currently running.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Use Golden Gate product for Primary and Standby(Reporting) database sync.
2. Start Process Scheduler which connects to both, configured for PSAESRV
3. Launch AE programs that do not have the Read Only box checked on the Process Definition.
4. Stop the Standby(Reporting) database.
5. Observe that AE program running is stopped when the Standby(Reporting) database is brought down.
