UserName not defined in database and It is not a basic authentication end point Errors in Campus Mobile (Doc ID 1913977.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 13, 2020

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Campus Self Service - Version 9 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When logging into Campus Mobile on an Android device, an error message appears saying: "Authentication URL responded with illegal HTTP response code. It is not a basic authentication end point. Please contact administrator."

The hostname in connections.xml has been changed properly, but testing the REST authentication URL in a browser https://<hostname>/PSIGW/RESTListeningConnector/SCC_USERREG_AUTH.v1/authenticate,  returns "UserName not defined in database." error instead of presenting the username/password challenge.

All integration broker configuration, the service operations, and service security appears to be configured properly as followed in the implementation guide. But the REST services are apparently not working right. Is there any additional configuration needed for these REST services or for Campus Mobile?

Note: As of CS 9.2 PUM Image 19, Oracle Campus Solutions no longer supports Campus Mobile. For more information, see Campus Mobile De-Support (Doc ID 2586826.1). Institutions that continue to use Campus Mobile are responsible for maintaining it on their own.
