Business Unit Field in the 'Alert Setup' Page Is Not Being Properly Utilized by the EON_ALERT Process (Doc ID 1915292.1)

Symptoms

When setting up an Alert, you can specify the field to be used as the Business Unit field for Notifications (navigation: Enterprise Components, Events & Notifications, Alerts, Alert Setup - Tab: Message - Field: Business Unit Field). However, regardless of the field that is specified on the 'Alert Setup' page, the system will use only a field in the query called BUSINESS_UNIT. As a result of this, it is impossible to use the 'Notifications BU Overrides' functionality (navigation: Enterprise Components, Events & Notifications, Notifications Framework, Notifications BU Overrides) to send Notifications to people based on other Business Units.

Steps to replicate the issue:

  1. Set up an Alert Notification using a Query that has two Business Unit fields, ie 'BUSINESS_UNIT' and 'SHIP_FROM_BU', and select SHIP_FROM_BU as the Business Unit field to use for Notifications (navigation: Enterprise Components, Events & Notifications, Alerts, Alert Setup - Tab: Message - Field: Business Unit Field).
  2. Create Notifications BU Overrides for the Business Unit that will come back from the above query (navigation: Enterprise Components, Events & Notifications, Notifications Framework, Notifications BU Overrides).
  3. Run the EON_ALERT process (navigation: Enterprise Components, Events & Notifications, Alerts, Run Alerts) > observe that the system uses the the value in the BUSINESS_UNIT field, despite the fact that we explicitly selected the SHIP_FROM_BU field on the 'Alert Setup' page.
