E-MCF:Performance Problem Reading Large Email Attachments

Symptoms

On : 8.53 version, Integration Broker

The Emails with attachments - (Size of 9.2 MB) are being read and processed successfully, but the email with 10 MB or greater are failing and the Error response is not clear of the reason behind the failure.

Below is the error I see in the "PeopleTools -> IB -> Synchronous monitor-:

Integration Gateway: General Connection Failed

This error is thrown when there is no valid response.
Possible errors include:

Bad gateway URL
Sync Service Timeout set and Service actually timed out.
Java exception thrown - Check Application Server for possible Java exception.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Run RB_MAIL_READ program.
