EGL 9.2: Mark Journals For Posting Uses Same PS Auto Run Control Before Initial Request Completes (Doc ID 1927874.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 14, 2016

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN General Ledger - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 9.2 version, Journal Edit

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Use Mark Journals for Posting to run Journal Post. Immediately, and before the 1st request finishes, submit a 2nd Journal request post from the mark journal for posting page. The 2nd request end up taking over the same PS_AUTO run control that is being used by the 1st request even though the 1st journal post has not finished processing. This is causing journals to skip posting as the page and AE are stepping on each other.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Expect both Mark Journal to Post run to work concurrent and finish to success.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Mark Journal to post, preferably a large journal.
2. Mark another to post and run while first process is running.
3. Review process monitor to see if process complete or not.

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
Unable to Mark Journal to post and execute two process at the same time consistently.
