Form approval routing is not updating appropriately.
Form approval routing is not updating appropriately when a form field pertinent to the approval process set up is modified after Save. In this case, the field that is key to the approval routing is the HR Department field—the approval set up will look for the manager designated in the department code on this field to route correctly.
Approval process should be set up to first look at the HR Department field on the form and use the Manager of the Department as 1st approver. 2nd approver should be the supervisor of the 1st approver, same with 3rd and 4th approvers and so forth. Configure User List. Approval routing fails to update (number of approvers, specifically) when a modification to the department field is made after an initial save.
