ELM 9.X: Uploading SCORM2004 Courses with CDATA in Organization Element Fails - Element Organization Is Required Error (Doc ID 1930859.1)

Symptoms

On : 9.1 version, Catalog Structure

Uploading SCORM2004 Courses with CDATA section fails with error:

A value for element organization is required. (18091,1202)
The PeopleCode program executed an Error statement, which has produced this message.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Uploaded the content to the webserver
  2. Create/Open an Activity under Main Menu > Enterprise Learning > Catalog > Maintain Activities
  3. Go to Learning Components tab
  4. Click on Add Component button > Web-based Learning Component
  5. Click Manage Content
  6. Click Upload and browser to zip
  7. Click Save
  8. Receive error
    • To troubleshoot the error, extract the imsmanifest.xml from the zip file and within the <organization> tag wrapped in a CDATA tag:
    • <title><![CDATA[XXXXXXXXX:XXXXXXXXXXXXX v1.1]]></title>
    • Removed the CDATA:
    • <title>XXXXXXXXX:XXXXXXXXXXXXX v1.1</title>
    • Updated the zip file and re-upload it successfully.
    • From:
    • <title><![CDATA[XXXXXXXXX:XXXXXXXXXXXXX v1.1]]></title>
    • <item identifier="i1" identifierref="r1" isvisible="true">
    • <title><![CDATA[XXXXXXXXX:XXXXXXXXXXXXX v1.1]]></title>
    • To:
    • <title>XXXXXXXXX:XXXXXXXXXXXXX v1.1</title>
    • <item identifier="i1" identifierref="r1" isvisible="true">
    • <title>XXXXXXXXX:XXXXXXXXXXXXX v1.1</title>
  9. Upload the content with imanisfest.xml file changed without CDATA
  10. See the results. It works properly and it can be saved.
