The Academic Period Prorated EFC (PRORATED_EFC) is the total Budget Duration EFC for Dependent Students (Doc ID 1935288.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 05, 2016

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 8.9 to 9 [Release 8.9 to 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When running INAS after the application of CS 9 Bundle #34, the Prorated EFC (PRORATED_EFC) is reflecting the entire Budget Duration EFC (Academic + Non Standard) instead of independent Award Period EFCs.

Example:

Student A has an Academic Budget Duration of 9 month and a Non Standard Budget Duration of 3 months. The 9 Month (Primary) EFC is 2000, the 12 Month Prorated EFC is 3000.

The expected results are the Academic EFC is 2000 and the Non Standard is 1000

The actual results are the Academic EFC is 3000 and the Non Standard is 0

There is also a computation issue with student's who have an Academic Budget Duration of less than 9 months and a Non Standard Period of greater than 0. The calculation produces a Negative Non Standard EFC and an Academic EFC that is greater than the sum of the total Budget Duration EFC.

Changes

CS 9 Bundle #34 delivered the solution to Bug 18512446 - FM CALCS ON STDNT_AWD_PER ARE INCORRECT WHEN FM PC CALCULATED FOR INDEPENDENTS which appears to have caused this unintended result.
