I-9 Form 508 Compliance Update

The I-9 module update received from PeopleSoft as provided by ITS does not match the legal I-9 form. Since the I-9 is a federal government form an employer does not have the ability to make changes to it. Although electronic I-9 requirements may be addressed in other documents/regulations the federal government M-274 manual includes reference to the fact that an electronic I-9 have no changes to "the name, content or sequence of data elements and instructions". "No additional data elements or language are inserted", and the standards specified in the regulations are met (8CFR Part 274a,2(e),(f),(g),(h) and(i) as applicable).
Some of the issues noted and discussed include wording in both instructions and field names that do not match the federal form, instructions that are omitted, data fields in different sequence, data fields that are omitted, and signature lines out of sequence. Additionally upon review of this update it was discovered that the module continues to pre-populate employee data fields in Section #1 of the I-9 and when printed the I-9 prints in the current version instead of the correct version at the time of I-9 completion.
