Self Service Payment Posting Fails When Student Name Exceeds 30 Characters

An error occurs on the Student Center, Make a Payment process when a student whose first name and last name are greater than 30 characters attempts to make a payment. Students with first and last names less than 30 characters do not experience this error when making self service payments.

Remote program SFPQCCWB failed with return code: 2899 .Reason: ORA-12899: value too large for column "SYSADM"."PS_PAYMENT_TBL"."CREDIT_CARD_HOLDER" (actual: 34, maximum: 30).

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Sign on to a student's self service account.
  2. From the Student Center, make a payment using a credit card. Enter a name where the first and last name length exceeds 30 characters;
  3. Submit the payment for authorization / capture.

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, students whose concatenated first and last name exceed 30 characters are unable to use self service to make a payment.
