E-SEC: 'Error 500' Received When Using 3rd Party Single Signon Into PeopleSoft (Doc ID 1955036.1)

Symptoms

When trying to set up 3rd party single signon, when the 3rd party is redirecting to the PeopleSoft tab=DEFAULT page, it is resulting in the following error

ERROR
-----------------------
500 internal error

The App Server log file shows the following error message:

HomepageTemplate](1) Error in service HomepageT, UserId is not authorized to access the CREF with URL: https://<servername>/psp/sutst/SUPPLIER/ERP/?tab=DEFAULT
