Error when Reusing a Badge Number from a Terminated Employee: “Badge CLK Number XXXXXX is Already Assigned (6555,1)” (Doc ID 1982222.1)

Symptoms


Cannot use the same badge number for another employee even if the previous employee is already terminated.

We attempted to retrieve the terminated employee in the badge page to delete the badge information so that we can reuse, but terminated employees cannot be retrieved in the badge page

ERROR

Badge CLK number XXXXXX is already assigned (6555,1)
Same badge type and number cannot be assigned to a different people at the same time. please verify the information


STEPS TO REPLICATE ISSUE

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
1. Navigate to workforce administration > Personal information > Badge
2. Select an employee and enter a badge number XXXXXX effective date MM/DD/YYYY and save 3. Now navigate to Navigate to workforce administration > Job information > Job data
4. Retrieve the employee and terminate effective MM/DD/YYYY
5. Navigate back to the badge page and locate the employee, we can no longer retrieve the terminated employee in the badge page
6. selected another employee and enter the same badge number XXXXXX, warning message appears that I can no longer use the badge
