Last updated on DECEMBER 14, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.53 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When using any of the file attachment PeopleCode functions (i.e. AddAttachment, ViewAttachment, DetachAttachment, GetAttachment, PutAttachment, DeleteAttachment, etc.), and URL Definition used is a SFTP server with public key authentication, the user is kicked out of the application.  The trace stops abrutly without any error, and similarly there were no telling errors in the Application Server logs.  If used in an Application Engine program, the Application Engine program stops without additional errors.

The problem was found to be specific to SFTP servers only, and only when public key authentication was used.  Password authentication works fine.

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
1. PeopleTools > Utilities > Debug > PeopleTools Test Utilities

3. Use "Add" button to upload a test file
4. Select a file
