E-PIA: Non-English Pages Throwing Error: Updating DOM Unsuccessful: Error - ReferenceError: 'modalID' is undefined (Doc ID 1987298.1)

Symptoms

When logged in using another language instead of English (such as French) several application Push Buttons and Hyperlinks give the error:

Updating DOM Unsuccessful: Error - ReferenceError: 'modalID' is undefined

The same error is not seen when logged in with English going to the same links and buttons.

In addition, the error is specific to the Internet Explorer (IE) browser across versions 9,10,11 at least.

REPLICATION STEPS

FSCM example:
- Login in French (Francais) with IE browser
- Navigation: eProcurement > Gerer demandes d'achat
- Open a requisition
- Click on link "Retour a Gerer demandes d'achat"
- Error appears
Updating DOM Unsuccessful: Error - ReferenceError: 'modalID' is undefined

HRMS example:
- Login in French (Francais) with IE browser
- Navigation: Libre-service responsable > Gestion des temps > Approuver temps et exceptions > Demandes d'absence
- Click 'Solde absences prévues'
- Click 'Approuver'
- Click 'Oui'
- Error appears:
