Information in this document applies to any platform.
This Knowledge Document applies to Cost Management release 9.2
ChartField Overrides should not apply to Inbound and Landed Cost Elements. The 'Cost Accounting Creation' process (CM_CSTACCTG) (navigation: Cost Accounting, Inventory and Mfg Accounting, Create Accounting Entries, Cost Accounting Creation) should apply the setup at the Transaction Accounting Rules level for these Cost Elements.
We made a change a long time ago to exclude Inbound Cost Elements from the ChartField Overrides logic. This change was delivered in the SCM IN/CM/CE 8.4 SP1 Bundle #3 (as part of the fix for the Incident # 597725000) and from release 8.8 GA.
The code change was added in release 8.4 SP1 in the following Application Engine PeopleCode: CM_ACCTGLINE.RowByRow.AcctgLn.OnExecute. Search for /* Exclude inbound cost elements from CF overrides */ and you will find it. In later releases, when the 'Transaction Costing' process (CM_COSTING) and 'Create Accounting Lines' process (CM_ACCTG) were combined into one process called 'Cost Accounting Creation' process (CM_CSTACCTG), the code change was moved to the following Application Engine PeopleCode: CM_ACCTGLINE.AcctgLn.U_Inb_ce.SQL (but the comment /* Exclude inbound cost elements from CF overrides */ can still be found in the following Application Engine PeopleCode CM_ACCTG.AcctgLn.AcctgLn.OnExecute which replaces CM_ACCTGLINE.RowByRow.AcctgLn.OnExecute).
