Why Is the Analysis Type Field (ANALYSIS_TYPE) in the PS_IN_DEMAND Table Not Getting Populated Anymore from Release 8.9?

In releases < 8.9, when a demand line is created the Analysis Type field (ANALYSIS_TYPE) in the PS_DEMAND_INF_INV table is populated with a value which categorized the source of the transactions (for example 'ORD' when the demand line was created for a Sales Order in Order Management).

From release 8.9, the Inventory tables PS_DEMAND_INF_INV, PS_DEMAND_INV, and PS_SHIP_INF_INV have been combined into one table called PS_IN_DEMAND. At the same time, the Analysis Type field is not getting populated anymore when a demand line is created. Why is that?

Note that demand lines which are upgraded from a release < 8.9 to a release >= 8.9 still have an Analysis Type value in the PS_IN_DEMAND table.
