E-IB: Service Operation Tester Utility Does Not Pass Along HTTPTARGET Header Property "Content-Type" on PeopleTools 8.50 - 8.52 (Doc ID 1998588.1)

Last updated on APRIL 16, 2015

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.50 to 8.52 [Release 8.4]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On PeopleTools 8.50 .. 8.52, when trying to invoke an external web service via Integration Broker Service Operation Tester utility, get an error response with code 500 (message 158,10623), and with SOAP Fault where the faultstring is "content-type of the request should be text/xml", despite having explicitly indicated HTTPTARGET connector header property with name "Content-Type" and value "text/xml".

The inspection of detailed gateway message log (generated while having ig.log.level=5) shows that IBInfo of the request does not include the expected (explicitly set on the page) connector property "Content-Type" with value "text/xml", and that HttpTargetConnector: HTTP Headers in the Request still include content-type "text/plain" as copied below:

content-type : [text/plain]

This makes impossible to use Service Operation Tester utility to test integrations to servers that verify content-type header and expect anything but "text/plain" as its value.
