After upgrading to PeopleTools 8.54 on Oracle database, almost every PeopleSoft process running against the database now has a persistent connection for both PEOPLE and SYSADM userids. Once the process is shutdown both the connections go away. In PeopleTools 8.53 and below environments PEOPLE userid connects to the database first, then it disconnects and then the SYSADM connection is made.
It looks like the PEOPLE (connect id) is not disconnecting prior to connecting as SYSADM.
