Last updated on APRIL 28, 2015

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.52 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Using PeopleTools: 8.52.13 on Linux RHEL 5

Upgraded the Java JRE under the PS_HOME from 1.6 to 1.6.0_91, by installing the software and changing the 'jre' symbolic link to the new installation.

The PIA sessions in general are getting corrupted and users cannot work.
Application Server log shows errors while trying to load the JVM.
PSJNI: Creating a Java VM instance
PSJNI: JniMsgHook: Error occurred during initialization of VM
PSJNI: JniMsgHook: java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError
PSJNI: JniMsgHook: : java/lang/Object

Impact: users cannot work since the new JRE got installed, so they reverted back to the original one.
Upgrading JRE is needed to fix security vulnerabilities.
