EGL9.2: Getting No Matching Buffer Error On Review Financial Information > Ledger Page When PS_LEDGER Row Has Zero Balance. (Doc ID 2009160.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 14, 2016

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN General Ledger - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On : 9.2 version, Ledgers

On version 9.1 (or previous versions) Journal entries with zero dollar that have chartfield combinations  did not write to PS_LEDGER (apparently because of there were no dollars). In version 9.2, even zero dollar journal entries create a row on PS_LEDGER. However, when we go to General Ledger > Review Financial Information > Ledger, select the associated chartfield for searching, and click "Show Transaction Details", and click "Search", the following error occurs.

No matching buffer found for level. (15,26)

When retrieving data for a page, a data value was retrieved for which there was no matching data value at a higher level scroll entry. (For example, at scroll level 2, a value of ABC was read in and scroll level 1 contained this higher level field but did not have a row with a key value of ABC.) This usually occurs because of an error in a database record or view; or because of improper deletion of values in a database. Correct the page definition or contact your system administrator.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1) Find a chartfield combination that has journal activity but not PS_LEDGER row (probably zero dollar amount):
2) Enter journal with same chartfields and non-zero dollar amount for the next period in that Fiscal Year (edit and post):
3) Go to Ledger Inquiry, click “Show Transaction Details”, and run the search.
