Symptoms

HTML Email approval for Employee transfer Requests ( also for other approvals eg: Promotion, Terminate ).

User getting error in MSS Transfer Employee (or Promote Employee) component when submit request with high volume of Requester comments.

Note: System works fine when comments are less.
 
Fatal SQL error occur in Transfer, Promotion Transaction and other transactions where HTML emails are enabled

The first operand of the dot operator is the NULL value, indicating the lack of any object value. As a consequence, the given method or property cannot be used



STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Enable HTML email feature for the approval transaction (either Promotion or Transfer employee)
2. Navigate to Main Menu->MSS->Job and Personal Inf->Transfer employee
3. Enter higher volume of comments
4. Click on Submit
5. Get the above error.
