SES / Search Framework related Integration Broker Queue PTSF_SES_FEEDS accumulates service operation instances some of which go to status Timeout.
To prevent those timeouts, Doc ID 1988711.1 recommends to set up the Queue PTSF_SES_FEEDS to be Paused, with explanation as follows, quoting:
"... the standard functioning of the Search Framework system as it uses the operation instances differently than typical messages being execute via PUBSUB.
These message do not need to go to DONE status, as the feeds processing API picks up the information for the search directly rather than via a handler ..."
However, while the timeouts may stop to occur, the service operation instance transactions in that Queue accumulate in status NEW, as if waiting to be processed.
Such accumulated unfinished ("NEW") transactions cannot be automatically batch-archived or selectively bulk-deleted by PeopleTools delivered means or scripts.
And even though they can be periodically cleaned up manually, this requires of the environments administrators extra awareness of this matter and extra work.
How to deal with those accumulating transactions, and are there any plans for a permanent fix to prevent both timeouts and queued transaction accumulation?
