Request A Change To The Marital Status Date's Title As For Child Dependents, Employees Could Find This Confusing (Doc ID 2046382.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 31, 2015

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Human Resources - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The current functionality for Marital Status Date is not necessarily the date the dependent was Married.  The Marital Status Date field corresponds to the Marital Status field, i.e. the effective date of the person's status.
So for a child where the marital status is single, the Marital Status Date is the date when the child is single, which is the as of date on the Personal History, and if not provided, the effective date of the row of entry.

Therefore if Marital Status Date is not necessarily the date the Dependent was Married, the Title should be changed to another name in order to prevent confusion for employees.
