PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.54 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

What actually occurs when the compile directive PeopleCode step is performed during the upgrade?

There seem to be a lot by turning on the App Designer trace in the configuration manager. From the resultant trace file, it identifies objects in the project that contain directive PeopleCode and then deletes them from a few PeopleCode tables before inserting the same data back into them and updating the lock and version tables. Why does it insert the same data back into the tables that it just deleted? This indicates that nothing was changed. Is there more information about this?
