MessageBox with Message Style as OK push button is behaving strange after Tools Upgrade 8.54

After Peopletools Upgrade from 8.53 to 8.54, the MessageBox with Message Style as OK push button (Parameter=0) is behaving strange. The control is not waiting for the user action (clicking OK button) but continuing with rest of the code lines.

For an example:
In Document upload Transaction page, we introduced a MessageBox with Message Style as OK push button before Add Attachment Function call. We are expecting the Message displayed with an OK button and wait for user interaction, before processing Add Attachment function call. But we noticed that the control is not halted after displaying the message, it continued execution and function call happened. As this execution is continues Upload window popped up (as part of Add Attachment function call), but the MessageBox remains on the top with no control (unable to click on OK button).

The same scenario using MessageBox with Message Style as OK-Cancel push button (Parameter=1) is working as expected – Message popped up and control is waiting for user action.

This functionality was working fine with Peopletools 8.53, but not in 8.54. We tried the same in DEMO (8.54) instance and we could replicate the same.
