Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

If users navigate to a remote content conditional navigation content reference (CREF), from thereafter all breadcrumbs will be incorrect and appear truncated.

Conditional Navigation is explained in PeopleBooks, and basically directs users to either a Classic/Fluid component conditionally:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E58500_01/pt854pbh1/eng/pt/tprt/concept_UnderstandingConditionalNavigation.html#topofpage

One example delivered conditional navigation CREF would be "View Paycheck" in HRMS 9.2.  Example replication:

1. Navigate to a conditional navigation CREF, such as:
HRMS Menu > Self Service > Payroll and Compensation > View Paycheck

2. The breadcrumbs would initially show as correct: Main Menu > HRMS Menu > Self Service > Payroll and Compensation > View Paycheck

3. But, if the user accesses either the same page again in the menu, or another one, the breadcrumbs will be begin getting truncated.  Say the user accesses again: Main Menu > HRMS Menu > Self Service > Payroll and Compensation > View Paycheck.  Notice the breadcrumbs will briefly show the correct 'Main Menu > HRMS Menu > Self Service > Payroll and Compensation > View Paycheck' breadcrumb, but upon the page loading, it will refresh, and be truncated to just:

Main Menu > Pay

4. At this point, when you navigate to any other component, the breadcrumbs will be incorrect and be truncated.

For example:
Main Menu > HRMS Menu > PeopleTools > Utilities > Debug > PeopleTools Test Utilities
will truncate to:
Main Menu > PeopleTools Test Utilities
