On : 9.2 version, Time Reporting
Edit not firing when clicking Previous Week link. When the user attempts to open a new hire timesheet using a date prior to the hire date they are presented with an error message 'Cannot report time for the date 12/25/2000 (13504, 3610). Time reporter is not active for this date.
However, if they are using the previous week link from the current timesheet where the Time Reporter is active and come to a time period when the employee is inactive they expect the message to be give but it is not. Instead the timesheet opens with all the fields grayed out and new columns shown that aren't according to the Time Reporting Template.
For usability purposes the behavior and message should be the same regardless of how they are accessing the previous timesheet.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. new hire employee
2. manager attempts to open timesheet using a date prior to the employees hire date and an error message is generated forcing them to enter the correct date, the timesheet opens with the message and all fields grayed out and fields shown are according to template.
3. if the manager tries to use the previous week link to move to a date prior to hire date the timesheet is displayed grayed out and more fields than specified on the time reporting template. No message generated.
This is a usability issue and want the error message generated regardless of the navigation used in order to avoid confusion.
