Symptoms

When navigating to the 'Manage Activity Guide Instances' page, and there are many instances, it takes very long time to load.  At worst, users are kicked out after the page times out.

Navigation (varies depending on version):
PeopleTools > Portal > Activity Guide > Manage Activity Guide Instances
PeopleTools > Portal > Activity Guide > Manage Instances
