Fixed Picking Location Can Be Created without a UOM which Leads to Multiple Issues, QTY_BASE Field Not Updated, Incorrect On Hand Quantity, 'Cost Accounting Creation' Process (CM_CSTACCTG) Failing

The system allows to define an Item Fixed Picking Location (which is already defined as the Default Putaway Location for the Item) with a BLANK Unit of Measure (UOM) (navigation: Inventory, Maintain Storage Locations, Fixed Picking Locations). This leads to having the following issues:

  1. There are no updates for QTY_AVAILABLE, QTY_ONHAND and A.QTY_OWNED fields on the PS_BU_ITEMS_INV table.
  2. There are no updates for QTY_BASE field on the PS_PHYSICAL_INV table.
  3. There are no updates for QTY_BASE field on the PS_TRANSACTION_INV table.
  4. the 'Cost Accounting Creation' process (CM_CSTACCTG) (navigation: Cost Accounting, Inventory and Mfg Accounting, Create Accounting Entries, Cost Accounting Creation) failS due to zero the QTY_BASE field value, as explained in the Knowledge <Document 1080631.1>
