GP CORE - System Not Considering Supporting Element Override By Slice (Doc ID 2070622.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 27, 2015

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Global Payroll Core - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In case of element segmentation affecting a element for which supporting element overrides are entered with a different value for the different slices, system is not using the right overridden value - the one effective as of slice end date, instead it is using the value effective as of Segment End Date.

Overridden value effective as of slice end date should be considered

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create a numerator and denominator variables for a proration rule used for “SALARY BASIC” element

2. Overridden the proration rule for the delivered SGP element “SALARY BASIC” with the below values in Supporting Elements page
Numerator for the dates "01 May 2015" to "19 May 2015" - 9
Numerator for the dates "20 May 2015" to "31 May 2015" - 6
Denominator for the dates "01 May 2015" to "19 May 2015" - 18
Denominator for the dates "20 May 2015" to "31 May 2015" - 18

3. Enter Pay rate change in mid month for the Payee effective "20 May 2015"

8. Process payroll and verify the results

Salary for first slice should be (1500 * (9/18)) = 750 SGD,
Instead it is considering the last slice values (1500* (6/18)) = 500 SGD

And Second Slice (2000 * (6/18)) = 666.67
