EPY: TAX810VT - Incorrect File Format for Record Type 'C', Columns Total Wages and Excess Wages (Doc ID 2085048.1)

Last updated on JULY 15, 2016

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Payroll for North America - Version 9.1 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When submitting the TAX810VT to State of Vermont, the State advised that it was not in the correct format:

According to the specifications for the Vermont quarterly wage and contribution file (TAX810VT), for record type 'C', the total wages should start in column 34 for 13 bytes and excess wages should start in column 47 for 13 bytes. However, when the program is run, total wages start in column 34 for 11 bytes and excess wages start in column 45 for 15 bytes. To correct the file, add two leading zeros before the total wages and remove 2 zeros after total wages and then the file was correct.
